Contractor pay scale:

Eastern Division Mileage Pay*

  • Van Division:                  $0.92 per loaded mile        $0.81 per empty mile
  • Flatbed Division:            $0.94 per loaded mile        $0.81 per empty mile
  • Covered Wagon:           68% of the revenue

Western Division Mileage Pay*

  • Van Division:                  $0.92 per loaded mile        $0.81 per empty mile
  • Flatbed Division:            $0.94 per loaded mile        $0.81 per empty mile

Additional Pay & Perks:

  • Longevity bonus: contractors who stay continuously leased on with Swift receive a progressive bonus per mile after the first three years of service.
  • Base plate licensing and permits are provided.
  • $35 for each additional drop/pick on multi-stop loads (after the first).
  • 100% of lumper’s fee, if required, are paid.
  • Contractors are insured while under dispatch by Swift Transportation.
  • Tolls are reimbursed.

Premiums vary depending upon the features of the plan, such as: deductible, coinsurance, prescription drug coverage, etc. These programs all have underwriting criteria.
